Some might think it is not an event to celebrate but it is indeed a date for me to give thanks. I am so grateful for all of my friends, family and doctors who have supported me every step of the way! I am so grateful to have the chance to watch my children learn and grow. I now know why God spared me from a premature death - to raise my children, grow old with my husband and be an advocate for women and heart disease.</p>
<p>I spent the day reflecting on all I have been able to experience these past seven years. Some of the things I could have done without(losing my job, struggling emotionally, financially and spiritually - but most of the things that we call living have been priceless! I no longer ask 'WHY?" why did I get sick, why did this happen to me? why was I spared...I am finally at the point of WHAT - what can I do to make a difference? I know in my heart that I am hear to speak for other women who died of heart disease and to help others take control of their heart health. </p>
